You’ve made the leap! You’ve decided to set up your own small business – YAY!
Most of us start a new business because we are passionate about the thing we do – or because we know that we have the skills to help people – and we are DONE with the 9 to 5, the appraisals, the long hours dedicated to making someone else’s business grow!
Like me – you’ve realised, it’s time to do it for yourself!
BUT
You are a *insert your area of genius* – not a graphic designer, so where do you start with making this thing look professional!?
I can help as you brand your small business!
I’m not a graphic designer either, though I have done a short course in graphic design in the past! But I am an artist, and a very visual, creative soul!
So I’ve got some skills in this area.
AND – I’ve been through all this myself when I made the leap in 2020, and at the time I did a lot of research and took some great advice from professional designers in my network.
Consistency in your small business branding is KEY – so spend time making those decisions now, and stick to them
I’ve pulled together what I hope is a really useful little guide for those who are just starting out… So if you’d like some tips on colours, logos, fonts and choosing your business name – from someone who has been where you are now – here’s where to get it:
A bit about me!
I’m Yvonne Phillips…
People really interest me – I think that’s why I love photographing them, and their stories. I’m a friendly, chatty sort, and I’m told I’m great at putting people at ease. Kindness is one of my number one values in life – and that’s probably why I love working with people like you, who help others to flourish.
I’ve had a camera in my hand for more years that I care to remember, and I’ve been a full time photographer for nearly 4 years now. Previous to that, I worked in the corporate world for many years, which taught me a LOT about the importance of giving an exceptional customer experience.
As a photographer, I’ve worked with international companies, and my biggest client is a national charity – but I really really love to work with small businesses like yours as I know that my help and skills can really make a difference to you.
I’m Irish, but I’ve been living in the UK since I left university. I have a lovely husband and two still-relatively-small-but-rapidly-growing boys. I love creating, so ALL of my hobbies involve crafts or making something (or making something grow, or something to eat!)
I’m looking forward to getting to know you too!
