What to expect during your Family Lifestyle Photoshoot

Before the session, you’ll complete a brief questionnaire about your family and we’ll also have a quick phone call (if that’s your thing, I know some people hate the phone!) – the more I get to know you, the better I can capture your story. I’ll give you advice on what to wear and we’ll talk about the sorts of activities that you might do on the day, and about the light and space in your house, or if outdoors, agree a suitable location.

On the day, I’ll first spend a little time getting the kids comfortable with me – sometimes they take a little time to warm up. We’ll then proceed to capture your memories! Mainly I will ask you to ignore the camera; certainly there won’t be any cheese unless you’re offering it to me on a cracker.

I’ll try to capture full family candid shots, which are my favourite – but there will also be one or two slightly more posed shots to send to granny! I usually capture one of these early-on, in case of a later melt down, and also one at the end when everyone is really used to the camera.
